The 2nd KENDSA Scientific Conference (2025)

The 2nd KENDSA Scientific Conference, held in 2025 at Egerton University, was a remarkable event dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the fields of nutrition and technology. This year’s conference proudly featured 58 students from the Kisii University Nutrition and Dietetics Students Association (KUNDSA)—the largest representation from any institution—showcasing KUNDSA’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and professional development.

Guided by the theme “Nutrition and Technology: Innovating for a Healthier Future,” the conference explored the transformative role of technology in shaping the future of nutrition and health. Participants engaged in thought-provoking keynote sessions by leading experts, interactive panel discussions, and hands-on workshops on topics such as AI-powered dietary assessment, digital health solutions, and innovative approaches to combating malnutrition.

KUNDSA’s strong presence was further distinguished by the support of our Chair of Department, Dr. Susan Momanyi, and our Patron, Mr. Alex Mutua, whose mentorship and dedication continue to inspire the association’s vision. Their presence underscored Kisii University’s commitment to empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and networks required to drive impactful change in nutrition and dietetics.

By the conclusion of the 2nd KENDSA Scientific Conference, attendees left with valuable insights, strengthened professional connections, and a renewed commitment to harnessing technology for a healthier world. The participation of KUNDSA at Egerton University stands as a proud testament to the leadership, passion, and potential of Kisii University’s Nutrition and Dietetics community.
